Fun, Fitness & Learning the Rules!
The Year 5-6 competition is where the fun meets a little extra focus! It’s all about staying active, making friends, and getting to know netball rules like a pro.
You’ll be coached by a supportive parent or junior coach and graded both as a player and as a team under Perth Netball Association guidelines.

What is the difference between the Net Set Go and Year 5 competition and rules?
As players move into our Year 5 and Year 6 competitions we slowly introduce full sized equipment, longer game times and the World Netball rules in their entirety. The Perth Netball Association has summarised the differences in a handy Junior School Sheet.
How many players are in a team?
Between 8 and 10.
Does my child need to come to training?
Yes. Attendance at all training sessions is mandatory unless the player is unwell. Players must be dressed appropriately for training, no jewelry is to be worn and nails must be cut short. If for some reason the player is unable to attend then they must notify the coach as soon as possible. We will train in rain (the games go on, so the players must get used to playing in the rain). However if it is severe weather or lightning we will cancel training (see the Extreme Weather Policy). You will be advised by the team on the WhatsApp group if training has been cancelled.
Does my child need to play every game?
Players are expected to attend all games unless unwell. Arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled start, ready to take the court (dressed and strapped) for warm-up. Wear the full uniform, remove all jewellery (PNA does not allow taped earrings), and keep nails short. If unable to attend due to holidays or school activities, notify the coach and team manager by the Thursday night prior at least, or preferably a week in advance if possible.
Do I need to help out as a parent?
Yes.
The Dynamites is a volunteer-run community club. As our club continues to grow, so does the amount of work needed behind the scenes to support our players, coaches and families.
To help share the workload fairly and ensure the club remains sustainable, all families are now expected to contribute to the running of the club each season.
